Summer Schemes & Youth Groups
One of the most memorable activities they will ever take part in
Summer Schemes
The Summer Scheme programmes run by The Happy Puzzle Company are quite simply amazing and can be held either indoors or outdoors. Children (from age 5 and up) and teenagers can participate in solving a range of puzzles and challenges designed to look unbelievably easy, but which suddenly seem just about impossible.
Giant marble runs need to be built, oversized mosaics need to have their colours co-ordinated, four piece jigsaw puzzles need to be taken apart (but don't want to be!), plastic mice caught in pieces of cheese need to be freed, rings stuck in handcuffs need to be released. These are just some of the challenges that could appear in a programme. Many Summer Schemes invite us back year after year!
The shrieks of delight that accompany the completion of each challenge speak for themselves. Whatever the age group of the children, they will have a wonderful time!
"It was a breath of fresh air. The children seem to do so many similar types of
activities. It was nice to do something so different - and they loved it"
Sue Johnson, 'School's Out', Romford.
The programme lasts for either 75 or 90 minutes depending upon the age group of the children. The number of children that can take part in each session varies according to a number of factors, such as the venue and the age-range of the participants, but a maximum number of between 60 and 90 children is usual. There is no minimum number. Back to back programmes are also available at a reduced rate for larger Summer Schemes. Early booking is recommended. Prices depend on location and timings. Please call us if you have not already been given a quote.
Youth Groups
There are puzzle programmes for the members of the group and team-building programmes for the leaders.
Group members are taken on a journey through the whole world of puzzles and challenges, identifying their own puzzle skills and putting those to effective use in conjunction with the skills of their peer-group team.
The focus of the programme is on completing the puzzles rather than completing against the other teams, although there is an element of completion involved as well.
If you wish, we can link the programme to a specific theme such as a social topic or a religious festival.
For the Youth Leaders, there is a team-training programme, which uses the puzzles to examine various types of leadership skills and mirrors real life leadership situations. Existing skills are consolidated and performances are evaluated.
The programme is run by experienced Youth Leaders and is highly effective. Programme times and prices vary, so please call us for more details.
Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Brownies
Our unique programme teaches the groups how to work effectively as a team, focussing on their individual skills as they tackle the puzzles and using those skills for the good of the whole team.
The aim is to boost the individual's confidence and self-esteem, by making him or her realise that tasks and challenges which may initially be perceived as being too difficult, are in fact possible and within his or her capabilities.
At the same time the individual learns to recognise the power of the group and effective teamwork, looking at how their own contribution to the team-challenge, however small, is nevertheless important.
The programme is highly effective and hugely enjoyable. Please contact us for further details.
