Donna Flowers-Dorning captures the magic of a Mediterranean evening in this evocative piece that invites you to pause, reflect, and simply be.
From an open window, the sun sets behind dramatic coastal rock formations, casting warm light across calm Sicilian waters. On the tiled table inside, a cup of coffee, rustic bread, and a book open to portraits by Picasso suggest quiet company and cultured inspiration. Vivid green foliage and hand-painted ceramics add layers of texture and warmth, weaving together themes of nature, art, and reflection.
This artwork is a love letter to Sicily, its art, its light, and its simple pleasures. Perfectly suited for a 1000-piece puzzle, it offers both visual delight and mindful calm for your next puzzling escape.
About The Artist
A lifelong creative, Donna Flowers-Dorning studied Art at college and went on to study Fashion at UCLAN in Preston. While she has always painted for pleasure, it was during lockdown that she developed her 'Still Life' series, drawing inspiration from patterns, plants, books, nostalgic food and drink, views, and artwork. Each piece is carefully composed to spark joy and evoke a sense of warmth and familiarity.
Donna's work is known for its vibrant detail, often incorporating text and pattern to create rich, expressive compositions. Her art is currently exhibited at Heart Gallery in Hebden Bridge, Sweet Magnolias in Hay-on-Wye, and Still Life in Ulverston. For Donna, creativity is a source of relaxation and joy—something that shines through in every piece she creates.
